We are getting some warmer spring weather in Holmes County these days, and at recess, the Amish kids have taken up softball again. It marks the closing bell for winter just as much as daffodils and tulips do. Sometimes the game is so popular that fifteen kids will take the field. Then getting a hit boils down to a slug fest, and the best batters are the only ones who get on base.
