This Amish fellow is using a three horse team to plow one of his fields for spring planting. Normally an old-fashioned plow like this one would be fitted with a contoured iron seat, but here he has bolted a soft desk chair to the plow. I guess there's no reason the seat on a plow shouldn't be comfortable. The next step before planting will be to drag a chain or hook harrow over the ground to smooth it out. Any way you look at it, Amish horses in spring get plenty of work.Labels: Amish, Amish Country, Amish Culture, Amish Photographs, Amish-Country Mysteries, Holmes County, P. L. Gaus, P.L. Gaus
